Hero Honda Motors Ltd(HHML) officially renamed as Hero MotoCorp Ltd. In the run-up to the unveiling of its new global brand identity, the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer has received the necessary statutory approval from the Registrar of Companies (RoC) for the changeover to the new name. India’s number one two wheeler maker in terms of sales has formally announced that the name change that will come into effect from Friday, 29th of July 2011. This comes as Honda of Japan sold 26 percent stake in the joint venture company to the Hero Group. As part of the deal Honda will be compensated with royalty payouts depending on net sales. Honda was in contract with the Hero Group till 2014 and both companies had agreed to their share technology. But since, Honda came into India as a separate entity, things weren’t going well between the two partners.

RCA Secretary Sanjay Dixit suspended

Rajasthan Cricket Association(RCA) Secretary Sanjay Dixit was "suspended" by president CP Joshi at a meeting held in Udaipur on Friday. Joshi has nominated K K Sharma as the "acting secretary". Dixit and Joshi has been at loggerheads for a long time now. The Joshi faction had fired first salvo by appointing Giriraj Sanadya as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) but Dixit brought in Mahesh Joshi as "Chairman" claiming support of 15 districts. The rift deepened further as Joshi faction held a meeting at Udaipur and with said support of 20 districts "suspended" secretary Dixit and handed over the charge to "acting secretary" Sharma. "There were 20 district representatives present in the meeting today and unanimous decision was taken to remove Sanjay Dixit from secretary's post. A five-member high power committee including Sharma, Somendra Tiwari, Mahendra Sharma, B.K. Upadhyaya and Giriraj Sanadya was constituted to look into the affairs of the RCA," Sharma said.
Dixit said the move was "unconstitutional." "Any representation from an association cannot be called official representation," Dixit said. "Many of the so-called representatives there did not even know that an RCA meeting would take place." Former RCA president, Lalit Modi, who had been ousted from the association by Dixit, welcomed the developments. "Dixit was ruining cricket in Rajasthan. Irregularities have become common in the RCA functioning," Modi said to TOI by mail.

Men deliver Child in Rajasthan!

Rajasthan's some of health centre sockhed the nation with the news when it threw all biological facts to the winds and provided “delivery” details of two dozen men. What more, one of them had delivered seven times in eight months. At this health department sub-centre in Kotda town of Udaipur district, among the patients who have had institutional deliveries since December 2010 are 32 men. Not only this, the centre’s records show some women have delivered more than one baby over this period. And all these men and women have been duly handed over cheques as stipulated under the Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) for each delivery. Health authorities in Udaipur recently unearthed the scam, and according to District Collector Hemant Gera, all cheques had been issued by one auxiliary nurse and midwife (ANM), Rekha Bhati, since December 2010. Some of the cheques bore Bhati’s name too. “Our inquires till now have shown that out of all deliveries done by the ANM, only a few were legal. We found that the ANM had used four or five names on most of the cheques she authorised,” said Gera, adding that a complaint was lodged against Bhati with the Anti-Corruption Bureau on Monday.

Raja names PM, Chidambaram in 2G scam

Former Telecom Minister and 2G accused A Raja on Monday dragged in the Prime Minister and then finance minister Chidambaram names while defending himself in court. Defending himself before a special CBI court for the first time, Raja said that the Prime Minister was aware of the sale of equity by Swan and Unitech to foreign companies. Raja said that Finance Minister, in the presence of the PM, had said that the sale of equity is not illegal and was to attract FDI.
The 47-year-old DMK MP pleaded before Special CBI Judge O.P. Saini that there was nothing wrong in his decision of not auctioning 2G spectrum as he had "implemented only what I have inherited." Senior Advocate Sushil Kumar, appearing for Mr. Raja, said if Mr. Raja is being prosecuted for following a certain policy then all Telecom Ministers since 1993 are liable to be prosecuted as they too followed the same policy. "If policy pursued by me was wrong, then all former Telecom Ministers since 1993 should also be in jail with me (Raja)," the counsel said while opposing framing of charges against Mr. Raja. He said, "As Telecom Minster Arun Shourie distributed 26 licences while Dayanidhi Maran distributed 25 and I (Raja) distributed 122 licences. Numbers make no difference, however, it is to be noted that none of them auctioned the spectrum. "If they had done no wrong, why am I being questioned? Let them deny that they have not done what I did. I was just following the 2003 Cabinet decision that is not to auction 2G spectrum. If I am following the law, I am not liable to be prosecuted. Infact, I should be rewarded," Mr. Raja said.

Committee of Secretaries recommends 51% FDI in Retail

Committee of Secretaries(CoS) today recommended allowing 51% FDI in the multi-brand retail, with a rider that the foreign investment should be at least USD 100 million. "The Committee of Secretaries (CoS), which met under the Cabinet Secretary Ajit Kumar Seth, also decided that the overseas mega retail chains will have to pump in at least half of their investment in the back-end supply chain," a source said. The politically sensitive issue will soon be taken to the Cabinet, the source added. Several global retailers like Wal-Mart are waiting in the wings for a full-scale entry into India''s multi-brand retail segment.
The final clearance by the secretaries will have to be endorsed by the UPA leadership, which is likely to weigh the pros and cons of the move, especially ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections scheduled next year. Last year, the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) had initiated a debate on allowing FDI in the multi-brand retail sector, which is dominated by mom-and-pop stores. At present, India allows FDI only in single brand retail chains like Nike and Louis Vuitton, with a cap of 51 per cent.
Winner: If cabinet approve the 50% FDI in Multiple retail definitely Big Corporate house, Foreign retail players will be winners and Middle class people will gets jobs in these stores.
Looser: Small size stores and general store owners in small and medium size cities, who will face the heat and indirectly people working in these shops will loose jobs, some economics also think that there are chances that they can control the price in India as big stores like Wal mart can buy 50% of production of any crop and can control the price.

While 2,368 (21.9%) of the 10,816 girls who appeared for the CA finals this year cleared the last hurdle, the pass percentage was 19.8% for the boys, with 4,277 successful aspirants out of the 21,603 who took the exam. The top rank has been bagged by 21-year-old Maitreyee Narayansing Rajaput of Pune. Industry observers said the result reflected a growing trend of young women doing well in the financial sector.
The second rank went to Arti Jain of Bikaner, while Charmy Suresh Sheth from Mumbai stood third. Along with arti jain other students also shine in CA Final exams 2011 with good rank. 16 Students from rajasthan secure place in top 50 as per result declread by The Institute of Charted accountant of India(ICAI) which also includes 12 students from jaipur. Rishi khatod 11th rank from Chomu, Tarun jain 12th rank from niwai, Pravin kumar 23rd rank from Neem ka thana. We congratulate all rank holders and successful candidates from state.

Sachin Pilot to head IT & Postal Department

Newly appointed Minister of State for IT and Communications Milind Deora has been given the charge of the Telecom Department and his peer, Sachin Pilot, will take care of IT and Postal issues. Last week, the 34-year old Deora, a two-time Congress MP from South Mumbai, had taken charge as Minister of State for IT and Communications. Minister for IT and Communications Kapil Sibal has decided the responsibilities of both Ministers of State, official sources said. While taking charge, Deora had said there is scope for improvement in the telecom sector, while emphasising on maximising telecom penetration in the country. He had said he would identify the areas which require improvement. An accomplished guitarist, Deora had said that his first and foremost priority would be be to increase telephony services in rural areas at affordable prices, while ensuring revenue to the government at the same time.
This move is major setback to image of Ajmer MP Sachin Pilot's in Congress party as he has given Postal and IT Department which has not too much to do while Milind Deora who was appointed after resignation of his father gets telecom department. we were expecting Sachin Pilot to get some new responsibility in cabinet reshuffle or some major role but unfortunately congress has nothing new for Pilot.

Jain said NPCIL is targetting 14 units of 700 MW capacity each, taking the total installed capacity to 20,000 MW by 2020. Cabinet reshuffle and Rajasthan MPs

Union cabinet reshuffle on Tuesday catapulted Rajasthan politics to new heights at the Centre with six MPs from the state making it big in the UPA-II government. Never before have as many parliamentarians from the state found a place in the Union council of ministers. Three of them are first-time MPs. With the latest induction of Bhanwar Jitendra Singh, a first-time MP and close aide of AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi, as minister of state for home, 30% of the Congress MPs from Rajasthan have been included in the Union government. With two cabinet ministers and four MoS, the increased representation of Rajasthan at Centre is expected to result in augmented development of the desert state. The Congress' state president underlined that besides getting increased representation at the Centre, the Rajasthan MPs have got some of the key portfolios. "This will definitely lead to greater development in Rajasthan," Chandrabhan asserted.
Union commerce and industry minister Anand Sharma, a Rajya Sabha MP from the state, has been given the additional charge of textiles ministry. Union minister for road transport and highways C P Joshi retained his portfolio despite reports suggesting that his powers could be clipped. Union ministers of state Sachin Pilot (communications and IT), Namo Narain Meena (finance) and Mahadev Singh Khandela (tribal affairs) too have retained their portfolio. Joshi and Khandela are first-time MPs. A member of the Alwar royal family, Singh's inclusion in the council of ministers (CoM) is an attempt by the Congress to lure Rajputs, who are considered traditional BJP supporters in the state. Singh is the first Rajput leader from the Congress to become a minister at the Centre in the past 64 years. The five politically important castes from Rajasthan now have a representation in the CoM—Jats (Khandela), Brahmins (Joshi and Sharma), Meenas (Namo Narayan), Gurjars (Pilot) and Rajputs (Singh). "The party has tried to please the major castes by offering their representatives ministerial berths," a former PCC office-bearer said.

Gujjar set 30 November as deadline for Reservation

Gujjar Reservation Action Committee has agreed to give time till November 30, to the Government for completing survey for quantifying caste data base and implementing other demands. The consensus for extending the deadline till November 30, emerged during the dialogue between the three-member Ministerial Committee comprising Energy Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, Home Minister Shanti Kumar Dhariwal and Transport Minister Brijkishore Sharma and a 50-member mega delegation here this afternoon. "The Gujjar delegates were by-and-large satisfied with the steps/action on most of the 13 demands but they expressed disappointment over slow pace of survey work being done for generating quantified caste data base for submission before the High Court for substantiating the demand of five per cent reservation quota", Dr Singh said.
The government had explained to them that this was due to delayed beginning as it took more time in finalising appropriate company for undertaking the task, now the company engaged for the purpose had started its work and completed the task in four districts, the Energy Minister, whop himself is a Gujjar, said. Likewise, some of court cases pending before the Gujjar leaders were also being reviewed, he added.

However, the in-service doctors' association has announced to proceed on mass leave from Tuesday for two days and doctors are determined to resign en mass on July 14. On Monday, the talks of doctors with the three-member committee of ministers failed as no consensus could be reached. As the government has invoked RESMA, the undeterred doctors are now readying themselves for imminent arrest.
"We are going ahead with the mass leave programme for the next two days and will resign en mass on July 14 if government fails to accept our demands. Google+ Vs Facebook

Google recently launched Google+ silently without much fanfare to compete with Social networking giant Facebook. Google+ is in limited Field Trial at present. Google is testing with a small number of people, but soon Google+ project is ready for everyone. While Google claims that it’s a ‘field trail’ and currently the service is strictly based on invitations as their servers are ‘overloaded’, we see that as a tried and tested way of creating a viral wave of ‘unrest’ & ‘yearning’ among people worldwide. Some of features of Google+ and facebook are listed here. There is a lot of first hand analysis of the supposed ‘Facebook killer’ over the Internet.
POSITIVE Google+ over Facebook
1. Google+ provides better privacy and well layered grouping – circles
2. Google+ does not have annoying applications like facebook (may be yet)
3. Google+ combines facebook and twitter together when the main features are concerned
4. Google+ is simple and sweet – May be just because it new
5. Google+ uses the google chat for chatting. It is much better than facebook chat
NEGATIVE Google+ over Facebook
1. Google+ lacks some features that facebook has (Since it’s new and beta)
2. Google+ does not have anything special for a typical facebook freak who does not care much about privacy
3. Google+ does not have the own powerful branding as a social network (It’s a sub-product of google and not a mere social network brand like “facebook”) However, this is how it could be released because a unique branding is too weeker to compete facebook.

Cocaine worth Rs. 100 Crore seized in Alwar

Rajasthan Police on Sunday seized close to 100 kg of cocaine, reportedly worth around Rs 100 crore, from Alwar. The police said it was the largest haul in the district. The police raided a house in Lalli village on Sunday and confiscated 46 drums of narcotics substances, including four drums of cocaine and what they suspect as Epidrin in the remaining containers. The Special Operations Group took over the case on Monday suspecting the narcotics were brought from outside the country and were meant to be supplied abroad.
Superintendent of Police Mahesh Goyal told reporters here today that the seizure was made during a raid conducted under the leadership of probationer IPS Assistant Superintendent of Police Preeti on a tip-off on June 19. However, the identity of the contraband was confirmed now after due testing at the Forensic Science Laboratory at Jaipur, Mr Goyal said. He said during the action at the premises of one person named Gillu, police raiding party had found 95 Kg of white powder, suspected to be cocaine stored in four containers and 1272 Kg white crystalline substance used in processing of narcotic drugs, stocked in 46 drums. The samples were sent to the FSL Jaipur and test report had now confirmed that power was cocaine and the crystalline substance was used in process of narcotic drugs. The trafficking of the drugs was said to have links in Andhra Pradesh too, the SP said.

Gujjars meeting today in Hindaun, Rajasthan

Rajasthan Gujjar Aarakshan Sangarsh Samiti to hold a ‘review’ meeting today on the conditions met as part of the agreement with a three-member ministerial committee in January. The meeting would be held in Hindaun in Karauli district. The 51 members, who were part of the talk with the state government after an agitation by the community in the December 2010, along with the local and community leaders will participate in the meeting. When contacted, Col Kirori Singh Bainsla said it was nothing more than a review meeting. “We will review what all has been done by the state government during the past six months,’’ he said, denying that yet another agitation by the community for special reservation was being planned. Bainsla chose to remain silent on his opinion over government’s attitude.
With all senior Gujjar leaders, including Captain Harprasad, Dr Roop Singh, Himmat Singh and others to attend the meet, speculations over the community’s next move, are doing the rounds. The community is reportedly upset with the state government failing to meet the set deadline. The government, in its agreement with the community in January, had promised to collate quantifiable data on the Gujjar population within six month – a deadline which ends on Tuesday, and present them before the State Backward Classes Commission as ordered by the court. The discussion is bound to revolve around future plans. The government assured the 51-members of Special Backward Classes (SBCs) that it will file a review petition in the court for special reservation. This was to be done on the lines of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu where the quantum of reservation had exceeded the apex court ceiling of 50 per cent.

Amitabh Bachchan visited Ajmer Dargah

Amitabh Bachchan visited the shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer on Monday. He spent almost 25 minutes in the dargah and offered a ‘chaddar.’ Before coming to Ajmer, Bachchan had written in his blog on Sunday night: “Almost 40 years ago, when I was just about to start my work as an actor in this industry, I had visited Ajmer and had tied a thread on the filigree work that surrounds the main area... for long I had wanted to revisit and untie it, as a fulfilment of that ‘mannat’. Tomorrow if all goes well, I shall be able to complete it.” "You untie any thread, for it is difficult to find the one that was tied almost 40 years ago, and that is taken as a completion of your wish. If you want to make another wish, you tie another thread," he added. Big B says it would be a nostalgic visit.
“I was an unknown visitor then. I wait to see how it shapes up now tomorrow ... more things in life fraught with undesirability are overcome with prayer than any other...prayer, that is a dedication and belief in one such superior power that shall when called out to, hopefully deliver... I need that deliverance... and the prayer,” he posted. Bachchan reached Ajmer in the afternoon from Jaipur. He was taken to ‘Dhai din ka Jhonpra’ where he parked his car and entered the dargah through Sola khambha. He seemed relaxed and in a pleasant mood. Wearing white clothes, he took the ‘chaddar’ on his head walking barefoot all the way to crypt. He offered prayers inside and sat on the floor with folded hands. “His eyes were slightly wet when he bowed his head down,” said a khadim. He followed all the rituals of the dargah and offered flowers and chaddar inside.

The latest standoff in the protracted struggle spelt fresh trouble for an already beleaguered Congress, both in the state as well as at the Centre, with most of the lawmakers who put in their papers belonging to the party.
The Centre realises that its Telenagana leadership has faced enormous pressure to resign from the grass roots and partys like K Chandrashekar Rao's TRS. But will it come up with a face saver announcement on the issue without which the crisis may get worse. The TRS, meanwhile, has called for a Bandh, protest march and even a rail roko over the next few days. And agitations will only intensify the situation for the Congress government in the state and the Centre. While the party's leaders are willing to the negotiate, the question is how long can the Centre remain silent on Telangana.

Rahul gandhi back in Bhatta-Parsaul, Mahapanchyat in Aligarh

Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi back in Bhatta-Parsaul, Raghupur, Rustampur and other villages before going to address a Kisan Mahapanchyat " in Aligarh on July 9 to raise the issues of farmers including land acquisition. The party had earlier planned to hold the rally in Bhatta-Parsaul village in Greater Noida - the epicentre of protest by farmers in May over acquisition of their land - but had to shift the venue to Aligarh as it was denied permission by the state government for Bhatta-Parsaul. "The state government did not give us permission to hold rally in Bhatta Parsaul or any other rural area. We have to hold it in a city so Aligarh was chosen as the venue," state Congress president Rita Bahuguna Joshi said.
She said a reason for choosing Aligarh as the venue of the rally was its rail connectivity which will ease travel for farmers. Congress leaders said that all issues related to farmers, including problems faced by them regarding availability of power and fertilisers, will be raised at the rally.
