Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to meet Baba Ramdev Today

Art of Living Founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to meet Baba Ramdev today and try to persuade yoga guru Baba Ramdev to give up his fast against corruption and black money as his health was deteriorating, his foundation said. The spiritual guru, who is reaching Haridwar to perform the last rites of his father, will meet Baba Ramdev, whose fast against corruption entered the seventh day on Friday. "Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is going to Haridwar for his pitaji's Asthi Visarjan. He will also meet Baba Ramdev and persuade Baba to drop the fast as Baba's health is deteriorating," said a communique issued in New Delhi.
"Moily called Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and he (Moily) is in touch with the PM (prime minister) regarding Baba Ramdev's fast," said the statement. "We are hopeful that the deadlock will end by tomorrow." Social activist Anna Hazare has also appealed to the government to intervene and to urge Ramdev to end fast. Ramdev was rushed to a Dehradun hospital for treatment after his health deteriorated. The yoga guru has lost more than 5.5 kg of weight since Saturday when he went on fast against corruption.
