Rajasthan: State with lot of Colors

Rajasthan is the largest state of the Republic of India in terms of area. It encompasses most of the area of the large, inhospitable Great Indian Desert (Thar Desert), which has an edge paralleling the Sutlej-Indus river valley along its border with Pakistan. The region borders Pakistan to the west, Gujrat to the southwest, Madhya Pradesh to the southeast, U.P and Haryana to the northeast and Punjab to the north. Rajasthan covers an area of 342,239 km² (about the size of Germany).
Historical traditions are that Jat, Rajputs, Bhils, Ahir, Gurjar, Meenas and some other tribes made a great contribution in building the state of Rajasthan. All these tribes suffered great difficulties to protect their culture and the land. Millions of them were martyred for this land.

Google Chrome Internet Explorer from Google

The most awaited Google's Internet Explorer is launched on September 2nd 2008.
Some of the Top features are:
1. The design is clean and simple, like Google search.
2. Google got rid of multiple boxes at the top. Instead, one box now serves as address box and search box. It supposedly can figure out which you're doing.
3. When you open a new tab in Chrome, you don't get a blank page like you do in Firefox or IE. Chrome displays thumbnails of recent pages you've visited. Click and go right there.
4.This is brilliant: you can open an "incognito window." Anything you do inside that window will be invisible to the computer you're working on. No trace left. Helpful if you borrow someone's laptop to look at porn. Not that I'd ever do such a thing.
5. Google built this especially to better accommodate Web-based applications, like for instance Gmail and Google Docs. A feature of Chrome lets you open an app in a window that gets rid of a lot of the other browser functions and makes the app look more like a regular app like Word.
6. Chrome has a "task manager" type feature, which allows you to see which pages in your tabs are eating up resources, so you can close down individual sites without affecting the rest of what you're working on.

Maharaj Suraj Mal: Rise of Jat Power

Maharaja Suraj Mal (1707–1763) was ruler of bharatpur in Rajasthan in India. He has been described by a contemporary historian as"the Plato of the Jat people" and by a modern writer as the "Jat Ulysses", because of his political sagacity, steady intellect and clear vision. He was the greatest warrior and ablest statesman.

In the early 17th century, the farmers of India were being terrorized and ill treated by the Mugals. At this point of time Churaman, a powerful Jat village headman rose against this tyranny but was defeated harshly by the Mughals. This did not remain for long, since the Jats once again came together under the leadership of Badan singh, and controlled a vast expanse of territory. The Mugal emperor recognized him and the title of ‘Raja’ was conferred upon him in 1724.

Deeg was the first capital of the Bharatpur state with Badan Singh being proclaimed its ruler in 1722. He was responsible for conceiving and constructing the royal palace on the southern side of the garden, now called Purana Mahal or old palace. In 1730, crown prince Suraj Mal is reported to have erected the strong fortress with towering walls and a deepwater moat with high ramparts about 20 feet (6.1 m) wide in the southern portion of the town. History of Jat People

History of India, as it is taught in our schools, colleges and universities, leaves many questions unanswered. In the last 70 rears quite a few books in Hindi came on the subject; notable by Th. Desh Raj Singh, Kaviraj Dr. Yogender Pal Shastri, Capt. Dilip Singh Ahlawat and Sri B.S. Dahiya, "JATS THE ANCIENT RULERS" in English. jats have a proud history, but no historian. They have long memories, but little sense of history. Their record in patriotic velour is glorious.
In India, after the resurrection of Hinduism against Budhism by Adi Sharachaya, Kumaril Bhatt and Ramanujam, the castle-Brahim became the sole arbiter of new order and hierarchy. They distorted history and social precedence to suit them. The Jat's spirit of freedom and equality refused to submit to brahmanical Hinduism. That part of Kshatriyas (Martial Races) who accepted the Brahmanical Supremacy unconditionally became the favourites and were given dignified name of Raj-Putra (Son of Kings), the modern-day Rajputs. The other portion of the Kshatriyas, who joined Hinduism late reluctantly in a group (jat) and never accepted the hegemony of Brahmins drew their censure and contempt.
The Indo-Scythian theory, associated with the names of some of the greatest scholars in the field of Indian History and Ethnology, has so long held the field and stifled doubt by the force of autho- rity. V. A. Smith, the last learned champion of this theory, says "When the numerous Bala, Indo-Scythian, Gujjar, and Huna tribes of the 6th century horde settled, their princely houses were accepted as Rajput, while those who frankly took to agriculture became Jat." Elsewhere he remarks, "There is reason for believing that the Jats entered India later than the Gujjars, rather about the same time."

People of Rajasthan

People of Rajasthan belong to different castes and tribes. In the area around Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur and Dholpur in the southwest of the state, locals belong to the Minas, Meos and Banjaras, Gadia Lohars, communities and were mostly traveling tradesmen and artisans. The Bhils, famed archers of the legends and one of the oldest tribes of India inhabit the districts of Bhilwara, Chittaurgarh, Dungarpur, Banswarara, Udaipur, and Sirohi. The Grasias and nomadic Kathodis live in the Mewar region. The Sahariyas are found in the Kota district, and the Rabaris of the Marwar region are nomadic cattle breeders. The important communities of Rajasthan are the Jats, Rajputs, Brahmans and the traders. The Rajputs are the martial race, known for their chivalry and valour. The Brahmans were the priests and teachers while the Mahajans are still the backbone of the village economy. The Jats and the Gujars are the agricultural communities.
The women wear long, flowing cotton ‘ghagras’ (skirts) made from upto 10 m of cloth in dazzling colours, highlighted by sparkling gold and silver ‘gota’ or ‘zari’ that offset the dull, barren landscape. They love to wear chunky silver jewellery and keep their faces completely veiled for privacy and also to protect themselves from the scorching sun and sand. The men are tall and handsome and usually sport long, twirled moustaches and often a beard. They wear colourful turbans (worn in different styles, denoting caste and region), often made of the tie-and-dye fabric that is a specialty of the region.
The people have an amazing zest for life and are as fun loving as industrious. They have a rich tradition of folk music and dance, each region with its own dance styles, songs and music. Several communities of professional performers - the Bhaats, Dholis, Mirasis, Nats, Bhopas and Bhands, spend their lives going from village to village. The villagers patronise them and even participate in their performances.
